Cobraspen Real Estate Development, founded by Luigi Prins, bought the site by public tender and started the redevelopment of SugarCity in 2000. The entire area is being revitalized creating a huge complex with space for offices, bars & restaurants, a casino, a hotel and a multiplex cinema all based on the principle of preserving and restoring the valuable existing industrial buildings in the area. The urban development plan proposes a rich mix of functions creating an area full of activity and accessible to all.

Trainstation

Traveling from SugarCity to Amsterdam Central Station or Haarlem in less than ten minutes and within fifteen minutes to Schiphol, it will possible in December 2011. With the train to SugarCity. It makes the area even more reachable.

The NS railroad station will be right in front of the SugarCity entrance, in between the stops Haarlem Spaarnwoude and Amsterdam Sloterdijk. It’s located at about the same location as the old Halfweg station. The NS is planning to let two Sprinter trains stop at the new station every hour.
